Looking for a spacious and comfortable home in Stockholm that's perfect for families or groups of friends? Look no further than this beautiful 4-bedroom house in the leafy suburb of Mälarhöjden. Full disclosure: this is our home that we’ve been renting via Airbnb for over 10 years. Time flies!
Located in a child-friendly neighborhood just 20 minutes from the city center by metro, this Mid-Century home offers plenty of indoor and outdoor space for relaxing and socializing. The house is equipped with high-speed fibre WiFi internet, a large 55" HDTV with Disney+, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix streaming options, and a fully equipped kitchen with all the amenities you need to cook up a delicious meal.
Enjoy our garden
One of the highlights of this home is the extensive wooden sundeck with deckchairs, parasols, and a large charcoal BBQ – the perfect spot for soaking up the sun and enjoying a meal al fresco. The garden is also child-friendly, making it an ideal space for families with young children.
Inside, you'll find two spacious living rooms, each with its own unique charm. The upstairs lounge is open-plan and perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing, while the downstairs living room doubles as a dining room and is stocked with plenty of card and board games for entertainment. Room for the whole family
The house has four bedrooms, including two double beds (180cm), one double bed (160cm), one single bed (80cm), and two single beds (90cm) that are combined as bunk beds (with the bottom one directly on the floor). A child crib and highchair are also available upon request, and linens and towels are provided for your convenience. Humble brag we are ‘superhosts’
The large upstairs bathroom is a relaxing space that combines Nordic warmth with Japanese simplicity, and includes laundry facilities with a modern washing machine and separate tumble dryer. There is also a separate downstairs WC and shower room.
The location is the best of both worlds
The location of this home is ideal for those who want to enjoy Stockholm's natural surroundings. Lake Mälaren is close by, with plenty of walking and cycling paths and great swimming opportunities. The child-friendly beach of "Mälarhöjdsbadet" is just a 15-minute walk away, where you can catch a steam boat to the city or out to The Royal Palace of Drottningholm. You'll also find one of Sweden's oldest cafes, Cafe Lyran, which is an ideal place to relax and take in the views over the lake while enjoying a traditional Swedish "fika."
